Pearl Necklace with Pearl Pendant (KJL line)
Fashion designer Calvin Klein purchased the original necklace, pendant, and ear clips (Lot # 190, 191, 192) for his then-wife, Kelly, at the landmark Duchess of Windsor's Sotheby's jewelry sale in 1987 for $1 million (excludes the earclips). Ms. Klein just sold the set (see the necklace below) in another Sotheby's auction in late 2007 for $4.1 million (excludes the earclips).
The 1987 sale raise over $50 million dollars which went to the Pasteur Institute, the beneficiary of the Duchess' estate.
This elegant facsimile of the original, using simulated pearls, includes the WE clasp that are a feature of many of the KJL Treasures of the Duchess product line. The attention to detail is simply wonderful, particularly on the pearl and faux diamond pendant (photo #2).
17" long of rope pearls. Simulated pearl and faux diamond pendant is approximately 2" and can be removed.
